Welcome to the Official Website of the Miss Indian Teen World National Scholarship Pageant, the prestigious American Indian youth pageant, which empowers young woman to achieve their leadership skills, talents, and develop personality, personal goals, personal achievement through education, and professional goals.
Miss Indian Teen World is not a “beauty pageant”, but to seek to reach the beauty of the young woman heart, culture and heritage.
Miss Indian Teen World pageant will take place in Salt Lake City, Utah, October 11, 12, 13, 2007.
The contestants will spend an unforgettable three days and three nights of filled fun pageant activities. “Native America’s Rising Star” Miss Indian Teen World 2007 Princess will be crown on October 13, 2007.
The Annual Miss Indian Teen World 2007 – 2008 will reign for one year.
All the contestants are required to check-in at the hotel, the afternoon of October 10, 2007. The following day, the ordination and workshop will begin the morning of October 11, 2007. The first important meet will begin 8:30 a.m. in the ballroom of the hotel.
More detail information will be given during the ordination meeting.
CONTESTANTS REQUIREMENT
* Contestants must be female, between the ages of 13 and 18 years old.
* Contestants must be from Native American Indian descent.
* Contestants must have proof of “Certificate of Indian Blood or have proof of tribal enrollment CIB.
* Contestant must have proof of age, and must provide a copy of their Birth Certificate.
* Contestant must have knowledge in Native American history, culture, values and traditions.
* Contestants must be single and have never been married. * Contestants must never been a parent and have no dependents.
* Contestants must be a student, enrolled in school, attending Junior High, or Middle School or High School.
* Contestants must have no less than a 2.5 GPA average score.
* Contestants must submit a recent copy of school enrollment, a copy of current report card or proof showing that contestant has at least a 2.5 GPA.
RULES AND REGULATIONS
* Contestants must be in good health and must be a good moral candidate.
* Contestants must not have any criminal history background or is presently involved in a criminal court case; must be drug/alcohol FREE.
* Contestants must not have any visible tattoos; no visible facial and body piercing (located in eyebrow areas, nose, lip, tongue, neck, belly, or any other body areas).
* Contestants must send back the entry form with the fee in form of money order(s) only. We will not accepted personal checks. Do not send cash. An entry fees is non-refundable. (No exceptions)
* Contestants will receive an Official Application packet after the entry form and fees are processed.
* Contestants will receive and submit official advertisement packet and sent back with the official application.
* Contestants must read the rules and regulations when the official application is received.
* Contestants must submit a platform: which the contestant is involved in, projects or future endowment, community involvement or feels strongly about. It is best to choose a platform which the contestant is actively involved in and to which the contestants is strong personal commitment to the involvement.
* Contestants must submit a 2 page biography on herself.
* Contestants must submit one (1) original and (6) copy for the judges. Please put the platform title at the top of the page and add your name. The contestants should include the reason you choose this particular platform. The contestants should make a copy for themself.
* Contestants must obtain a sponsorship funds for this pageant. This year the sponsorship will be lower.
* Contestants will send a recent 5x7 head shot- one black/white casual wear and one-color size photo. (Studio quality only.) No crown in photos. Label your name in the back please! Photographs will not be returned.
* Contestants will send a recent 5x7 full-length color size photo with the contestant in traditional tribal dress. (Studio quality only.) No crown in photos. Photographs will not be returned. Please label all photos with name on the back.
* Contestants must have three letters of recommendation from the following sources: Tribal Council member and from your School Council and your community. Information in the Official Application packet.
Miss Indian Teen World National Scholarship Program will conduct on going a leadership seminar workshop during the pageant event, which is design for our native youth participates.
NOTE: Miss Indian Teen World National Scholarship Pageant has the right to cancel if there is not at least four girls to compete in the pageant. MITW has the right to change the location, date and time of the pageant; MITW has the right to transfer the funds from the entries fees and sponsorship funds to the next pageant date. All funds are non-refundable in full or in part under any circumstances. (No exceptions!)
Categories of competition:
(Judging will be scored on a percentage-based system)
(1) Talents Competition: Contemporary and Traditional.
(2) Native Youth Fashion Showcase / Contemporary.
(3) Onstage Introduce: Contestants will introduce. themselves onstage, stating their names, ages, their Indian names, introduce their parent, what tribe their are from, a little about their hometown, talk briefly about their biography, career goals, and other interest she wishes to share.
(4) Onstage Judges Platform Questionnaire, includes communication skills, public speaking, Personality, Poise, and Public Appearance. Contestants well speak on stage to a live audience.
(5) Submit pages of Platform Essay .
(6) Submit 2-page personal biography .
(7) Personal Private Interview/ Parent Private Interview.
Contestant must have full traditional regalia dress and evening grown for the banquet.
(All prizes are tentative and are subject to change due to amount of funds collected from entry fees, scholarship funds, and sponsorship contributed by local and national business. MITWNSP has the right to change prizes without any notice)

The winner of Miss Indian Teen World will represent as a Goodwill Ambassador to Native American youth and elder people, to represent all cross- cultures throughout the country. MITW 2007 will sign contract agreement for one-year reign. She will travel by appointment only, attending Native American Organization, State Fairs & Festivals, School Function, Native Conferences, Native American Music Festivals, Native Pageants, Rodeos, Parade and Powwows, New Business, Grand Openings, Radio Appear and television interviews and other appearances.
Miss Indian Teen National Young Writers Competition 2007
Miss Indian Teen World Contestant may enter a new selection this year; contestant may earn points towards their overall score. Contestant may enter the Miss Teen Indian National Young Writers Competition 2007. Submit your own story essay, personal achievement, arts & crafts, poems; scrapbooks, photography, write your own music and lyrics, or scripts video editing.
Entry fee required.
In order to participate in the yearly pageant, the contestant must send the filled out entry form with the fee of $495. Upon receiving the fee, we will send you the Official Application Packet. Contestants must obtain sponsorship; all funds are non-refundable. The official application and sponsor packet will be sent to the contestant as soon as we received the entry form with the required fee.
The office of Miss Indian Teen World National Scholarship Program organization receives no federal funds to run the pageant; the program depends on the generosity of the individuals, tribes, business, and other sponsors. We are Native American women own business.
The entries form and the fee of $495 must be received before June 30. 2007.
The Official Application Packet and Sponsorship Funds must be received by September 08, 2007.
Late forms and fees will not be accepted.
Hotel Accommodations:
Contestants and their parents will check-in to the hotel that MITW has arranged, on the evening of October 10, 2007. In the Official Application, there will be all the information for the stay at the hotel. The hotel reception will know the names of the contestants and their parents. Contestants parents will be resonsible for their own hotel accommodations. Contestant parents will make their own traveling arrangements to Salt Lake City. Please RSVP all travel and logging one week prior with MITW.
